How to disable automatic addition of (#) to filename if such file exists?

I have such problem: my clients uses web-banking and they have to download specifically named file to use it in another software. And each time the Firefox adds a number after a filename, cause this file is exists already instead of simple rewriting of existing file. (filename.txt, filename (1).txt, etc...)
How to disable this option?

Using text files to set up web banking software sounds potentially rather risky. Out of the scope of this forum but I hope you have audited and reviewed the security and privacy risks your clients may be exposed to.
It will be out of your control where the end user decides to download any such file to or what name they give it. Perhaps the end user will consider it an advantage to have two separate files to compare the changes.
If the file already exists, then the browser will add something to the filename to allow that download. Why are the users saving the old files? If they must, have them add the date to the filename. FileName-2-1-17.txt
When you disable automatic downloading and use the "ask me" setting then you can give permission to overwrite the file if the file already exists. Firefox will never overwrite a file without asking for confirmation.
