My wife and I share a computer, each with our own account. She gets an urgent message from Firefox to install an update and I don't. Is this spam?

iMac running Mavericks, Firefox 31.0. She gets these type of messages periodically and I don't. However, if I go to Firefox>About Firefox I get an automatic update. This causes a lot of confusion on her part, and mine as well. It appears to be spam but then it's not.

hello donRobo705, this might be something that is caused by rogue addons. in her account please go to the menu > add-ons > extensions and remove any entries that didn't get installed intentionally or where you don't know which purpose they serve or try to reset firefox and see if this can address the issue...
