I want to switch from Internet Explorer 11 which will soon go the way of the DoDo, but I have ATT email which I want to keep. Will it be possible to keep ATT email if I switch to Firefox?

Absolutely. ATT is simply a website you go to to get your e-mail, the browser you use doesn't change your E-mail.
