Since Emails Require Addressees to Send, WHY Do you Not Set the Address Book In the Email to be VISIBLE by DEFAULT Instead of Making Someone Search all over to find how to make it visible to Drag and Drop an Address Into the Email ??? It makes no sense at all !!! The regular address book cannot be used to drag and drop into an email, so it has to be the one anchored on the left side of the open email. It does NOT APPEAR by DEFAULT. It took me 15 minutes to find it and get it positioned, where I could send an email. Before you automatically updated my version of thunderbird, I had it positioned before, but it disappeared and I could not send any emails, until I located the option and got it reset. That should be a NO BRAINER, since it is NECESSARY in order to use the program to send an email to have made the Address Book Available and Visible By Default without somone having to search for it.

Please understand, we have tens of thousands of users, and each wants to have it look and work as they prefer. Some like the addressbook visible, while others (myself included) prefer otherwise. When releasing new versions, we recognize that some features may become located differently. Thanks for writing.

So, you prefer that the Address Book is Invisible. How then, do you address any emails ? You can't use the one that opens by clicking the little icon on the far left of the program.

I start typing a few letters and Thunderbird shows options and I select the desired one. Much faster than scanning the address book. The contacts list is easy to activate from an icon on toolbar for occasional use, but it takes up screen space.
