I cannot enter text into the location bar. I can only google search.
I can highlight and delete information that is already in the location bar when I am on a website, but it will not let me enter in text. Typing in simple web addresses is impossible. I have to use the search bar for everything.

Try to open a new window (File New Window) and see if that gives you a location bar that works.
If that works then close the not working window and close the Firefox application (Firefox -> Quit Firefox) and see if you still have a working location bar after restarting Firefox.
