Every time i set up some app tabs, they disappear when I close ff. So upon reopen, have to set them up again, just to disappear again when i close ff. I thought once setup, they stay until deleted. Am I wrong on this? If they are supposed to show up after closing, it is not working on my pc. Running windows xp service pack 3.

App tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the file sessionstore.js in the Firefox Profile Folder

Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Browsing History"

Not really a solution. In order to not clear the Browsing History, I can no longer be in Permanent Private Browsing Mode. To me, that 1 feature is worth FF. So now that is taken away to have app tabs. Not worth it to me. FF needs a better way to store the app files. They should be like Bookmarks. You do not lose all your bookmarks every time you close ff. The app tabs need to be treated the same way, however that is done programming wise. Otherwise, to me, app tabs not worth it. I run WinXP.

I agree with allfish - not sure that this was thought out all the way.

The add-on "app-tab initializer" 0.2 fixed it for me. You define your preferred app tabs and it opens them each time firefox is launched.

The one thing I like about FF5 is AppTabs. It was nice while it lasted, but as-is... without being able to count on it working... just garbage. My experience was that I was able to close FF and relaunch it several times and the tabs remained, until today. The comment about session data is really sad. As-is the feature is not ready for release.
