My *.swf file were working fine in v54 but since it auto updated to v55 *.swf file no longer load.

I tried every method to see if my *.swf files would open. Drag and Drop; Ctrl +O. nothing now I just get a blank white screen.

I have the latest update on Adobe flash v26 and shockwave v12.2 I have the latest update graphic driver nvidia 385.41

Tried using it on Chrome and Internet explorer they work fine.

I have a problem with it as well. I play SNES games online via emulators. Until the update this morning, I've had no problems at all, but now, the emulator loads and the link 'Click here to play the game...' appears. The cursor turns into a finger when pointed at the link, the link will not click to load the game.

I tried it on IE (which I abhor) and it loaded and played, but IE is so bad that the game was frustratingly jerky and slow and unplayable.

I hope someone (or Mozilla) has an answer to get the emulators working again.

Try to set this pref to false on the about:config page:

  • plugins.http_https_only = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

^ Sorry, it didn't work. I changed it as instructed and tried it. Adobe Flash loaded and the link appeared, but it wasn't clickable. I shut down Firefox and started it again. Still no clicking.

Then I rebooted my system and tried again. Not only wouldn't it load, it crashed Adobe Flash each time I tried, even after restarting Firefox twice. I have changed the line back to 'true'.

Thanks for your help. It's appreciated. I can only hope that Firefox becomes emulator-compatible or that all the emulator sites make themselves Firefox-compatible.

Another 'app' broken w/ transition from 54 to 55 was video player for wsj.com. They have meta for both http: and https: prefixes for: .../api-video/player/WSJMediaPlayer.swf Under https://www.wsj.com/video/ , all that displays for any video is a wait spinner. At the left of the url, have drilled down through the i(nfo) widget, and under permissions, Activate Plugins, Adobe Flash, have tried both Always ask, and Allow. Neither helps.

P.S. May be an issue under Win10, not Win8.1 (both x64), though FF under the latter might have some exception (or other) settings which differ from the former.
