When I try to move my browser over I find the Tab Bar too short and I often grab and move or delete a Tab. I need to make the Tab Bar taller.

Another possibility is to move the Tab Bar to a lower position to avoid clicking on the Tab Bar by accident.

You can achieve this with an extension like Tabs On Bottom or Classic Theme Restorer.

Good suggestions. I want to keep the tabs and the bookmarks separate from each other to avoid hitting one by mistake.

It is possible to increase the height of the Tab Bar and the Bookmarks Toolbar to make it easier to click on either.

Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

@namespace url("https://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

#TabsToolbar { min-height: 35px !important; }
#PersonalToolbar { min-height: 35px !important; }

The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show in Finder
  • Create the chrome folder (lowercase) in the <xxxxxxxx>.default profile folder if this folder doesn't exist
  • Use a plain text editor like Textedit to create a (new) userChrome.css file in this folder (the names are case sensitive)
  • Paste the code in the userChrome.css file in the editor window
  • Make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line

This is way too complicated for me.
