My FF icon started showing a blank page when I clicked on it. I could of course click my homepage after the fact but not what I want. So I re-set FF afterwords there was a "old FF data" folder on my desktop. What is this for? what do I do with it? can I use it to set my homepage exactly as it was before the re-set? how?

Thank You, Ron

Recovering data from the Old Firefox Data folder is a little tricky because often the file and folder names are obscure.

Regarding your home page, were you using a custom page online (like the old iGoogle) that you can easily reconnect to, or were you using an add-on that stored the page setup locally? If it was only stored locally, there are a couple different scenarios for recovering your data, but the details depend on which add-on it was.

hello ron, this folder contains a backup of the state of your old firefox profile before you've reset the browser. in case you're not missing any of your personal data after the reset and everything works as expected, you could delete that folder.
