Still unable to load Contacts Sidebar. I am running Windows 8.1 and Chrome browser. I have downloaded the Contacts Sidebar to my hard drive but cannot figure out how to install it on Mozilla Thunderbird. I was able to install Lightning Calendar without a problem

I don't think the Contacts Sidebar add-on is being maintained. It may well not work with the current version of Thunderbird. The latest comments here:

refer to 2012 and Thunderbird 15.

Are you aware there is a built-in Contacts Sidebar? When you have the Write window open, press F9 to display it.
