What do you mean by 'recycle'? Computer programs can't tell a modem to reboot, and Firefox doesn't disconnect your computer from the internet when closing.
By recycle, I mean, the modem power light stays on, but the dsl light blinks red and then goes out along with the wireless and internet lights. Then the lights start blinking green, then, one by one they go back to a steady green. Until they all go back to steady green, I am not able to get on to the internet.
I have tried it dozens of times with Firefox and every time I close it, the same thing happens. I have also tried Internet explorer dozens of times and it does not have any affect on my connection.
I have searched the internet and I do not seem to be the only one to have this problem. Others have had it with different browsers. I have not seen any resolution.
