Hello,

I have a problem with my email and need some help. I have 7 email account in thunderbird and each account has inbox and about 10 folders per account.

The problem is my one account inbox mail vanished and inbox is now empty, but I dont know why. Now first question is does thunderbird make backup files so I could simply copy or move it to bring back my emails in the one inbox? Also the Inbox and inbox.msf are now small 14KB for the one account and one used to be massive.

Now I did some forum searching and managed a small victory, I deleted the one account "popstate.dat" and I managed to re-download my last 100 or so emails that were left on my mail server.

Next question is about backup and recovery and yes I did search the forum for awhile. I have mozbackup and did use it to backup my mail a month ago, but I never ever needed to restore my mail.

Is there a way to only restore the inbox of the one account where the mail vanished? Or will it restore every account, all the folders and mail?

Last question, is there a way to backup each folder and inbox of my email accounts separately? So if this issue shows up again I can simply restore the one item/folder ect.. and then delete the "popstate.dat" to re-download the current emails again?

I am sorry for asking such noobish questions, but I never had these issues before and I am a noob at restoreing email in thunderbird.

Thanks in advance Fred

Hey guys and gals,

Update I was able to use mozbackup file and only import the one folder I lost. I got answer and help at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2868437&p=13763201#p13763201 Just in case anyone has same issue.

So I no longer need help. Thanks. Fred
