Normall both are installed in separate folders and use completly separate profile by default. So Thunderbird should not touch any Firefox settings.

Are you by chance sharing the same Profile between Thunderbird and Firefox?

I expect it is the same profile. However, I solved the problem by updating Thunderbird.
