For years I have been experiencing frustrating video watching on youtube especially. This was even at slowest speed setting. I have DSL. Not the world's fast, but it is DSL. Videos seemed like I was watching on dial-up. Today I went to watch a video and every video screen would claim that my Adobe Flash Player was not updated and posed a security threat. I tried every kind of Adobe update possible. When I finally got to what seemed like the right Adobe page to install the most up-to-date FlashPlayer, the installer froze up. I had to go into Task Manager and stop the download. Finally, fed up with the whole thing, Google, FlashPlayer, the internet in general, I said to heck with it and uninstalled FlashPlayer entirely. It had just been updated less than 2 months ago. Just for a drill, I went to youtube to try to watch the video I wanted to watch an hour ago, and guess what? It played better than any video I've watched on there in years, with NO FLASHPLAYER seemingly installed. I didn't even have to decrease the speed. It was in HD and I was still seeing smooth video. Now why would that be?

This is because YouTube probably noticed you didn't have flash player installed on your computer. So instead of using flash player to play the video it used its HTML version. This isn't a issue with Firefox it is a Adobe Flash issue.

Hope i helped :)
