There is a website that keeps telling me:

"a plug in is needed to display this content."

It doesnt tell me which it needs. I have tried different add on but Im pretty sure that is not the issue. So Im wondering what is the difference?

Your system details list doesn't show that the Shockwave Flash plugin is installed and enabled.

You can find links of the latest Shockwave Flash player for Firefox on this page:

You can verify on the Adobe Flash Players Test Page that the Flash plugin is working and which version you have.

plug in are small software packages that is used to display certain web content, the content cannot be displayed without proper plug in., e.g., flash plug in, java plug in, silverlight, pdf.

addon are small packages to enhanced browser's functions, it is NOT required to display web content.

A plugin is an item that Appears in the Plugins list when you go to Tools -> Add-ons. Adobe Flash and Acrobat Reader are Plugins. These are things that are generally installed by a 3rd party installation outside of Firefox.

An Add-on is anything really (Extensions, Plugins, Themes, etc). What's the website in question?

I just built this computer two weeks ago so I am still finding little things here and there that I need to add. So with that being said and from what I read I am putting the "carriage before the horse" by trying to fix the add on. I need to get the plug in first. Now what plug in do I need? Let me try something...

The word Addon never existed until Firefox 2.0 or 3.0. Before we use to refer to Extensions, Plugins, Themes and Search engines as well by their names instead of lumping them together as general term Addons since.

Newer users may often think Addons equal Extensions only.
