I need a new option setting to open a link into a new tab automatically

more options

Hi, actually the only way to open a link into a new tab is right-clicking it manually; I think it could result useful to many other users too add a new check box into the configuration's window to select the link opening into a new tab automatically. Many thanks, Janko_FV

You're right, unless the website targets a link to a new window, Firefox doesn't divert it to a tab.

On Windows, the two other ways to force a link to a new tab, other than the right-click menu, are:

  • hold Ctrl and left-click
  • middle-click (typically using the mouse scroll wheel)

I think some of the tab-related extensions such as TabMixPlus have a feature to open ALL links in a new tab, or maybe links that would leave a website in a new tab.

If you think the extensions are too cumbersome and it needs to be built-in, a better place to submit product suggestions is here:
