How do I stop an email from duplicating, I have Mozilla?

I received an email this morning with pictures attached. Now every time I go into Thunderbird (Mozilla), the email duplicates several times.

duplicates? or downloads from the server again. I would guess the latter and suggest you disable you anti virus mail scanner. It has choked and died on this mail.

That has been done, it did not solve the problem.

four months is a long time to decide a problem is mot fixed?

The duplicates will recur every time your anti virus barfs on an incoming email. That is unless you have an outlook.com account. They just can not get their collective act together at the moment.
