When you use right-click > Copy Image, Firefox copies the image to the Windows clipboard so you can paste it somewhere else. It's similar to what happens if you select text and use right-click > Copy.

If you want to save the image to your hard drive, you can use right-click > Save Image As.

If the page makes that difficult, you can try the Page Info dialog. Either:

  • right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Media
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Media
  • click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > Media

That panel lists all the images. You can click in the list and arrow down using the keyboard until you find the one you want, then use the Save As button.
