hello lisalloyds2988,
if "adchoices" has got into creating some toolbars, changed your preferences,or added extensions then you can get rid of them by refreshing firefox. Please note refreshing firefox restores it to the default state, preserves your Bookmarks,Browsing history,Passwords,Cookies,auto-fill info etc. but removes Extensions and themes, website permissions, modified preferences, download history, plugin settings, toolbar customizations etc. to refresh firefox type in the Address bar- about:support and click the "Refresh Firefox" button.
But this wont remove the malwares/spam from your computer. For that you need to thoroughly scan your system by 2 to 3 AntiMalware because one alone might not pick up all the infections:-
These are some suggestions, choose at your discretion:-
1) Malwarebytes Antimalware(https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/thankyou/)
2)Spybot- Search & Destroy (free) (https://www.safer-networking.org/mirrors/)
3)SUPERAntiSpyware (http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE)

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Hi, AdChoices is partnered with some websites - Yahoo is one, I think. So try an ad-blocker like Adblock Plus.
