Firefox will not open to screen. The icon on my taskbar does show an open window but the window will not open to the monitor. I can rt. click the icon and choose refresh or maximize but neither help. I'm running Win10. It also will not open to screen when attempting to do safe mode.

Try to open the system menu via Alt+Space to see if that allows to move the window into view.

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Close Firefox. Right click on the icon and select Open New Tab. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.

This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/997866 {web link}
