When Firefox comes up on my home page. Yahoo.com. It is slow as the page loads. Then when I select a website to go to ... ie ... after doing a search ... the wheel in the browser bar just turns and turns ... sometimes never loading the website I want to load and sometimes it will take forever to load. I have tried everything Mozilla suggests online. Clearing cache ... doing a refresh. I switch over to Safari and everything works fine. I have always had a preference for Firefox over Safari on my iMac. Running Yosemite. In the past I have only had this problem a couple of times. A fix would be appreciated. Thank you.

HI herbonicus, Have you tried to start Firefox with the profile manager, try a new temporary profile to see if that is the issue:

What is your computer system and Firefox?

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
