I haven't been able to login to my PayPal account for a week now despite using correct email address and and password. I cleared my cache and cookies from my Firefox 45.0 browser as suggested on this site http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Cookies-and-Cache-in-Firefox

But after doing that I still can't login to my PayPal account.

Would somebody please help me? Thanka in advance

Make double sure you (not the form filler, Password Manager) is filling out those fields properly. Check the Caps Lock key.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Ask the web site to reset your password (forgot password).

I did, as suggested, restart Firefox in a safe mode. I tried to login to my PayPal account. It didn't work. Then I clicked the "Forgot Password" button and reset my password. I tried to login to PayPal but still it didn't work.

You used the "reset" link, and created a new password?

I did as you suggested earlier. On the PayPal login page I clicked the "Forgot Password" button. PayPal emailed me a reset link. That was the one I clicked to reset my PayPal login password. Then using my new password, I clicked "Submit" on the PayPal login page but the page just froze, it didn't move at all. I tried several times but the results were the same. I also did the whole process using Google Chrome browser but the results were just the same.

Does it work in a New Private Window?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Having the same problem on two different browsers can mean the problem is with the computer. A virus, or your protection programs.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Please turn off your Caps Lock.

Remove History For One Site Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

Thank you very much for continuing patiently to help me out. I think something is wrong my laptop. I typed PayPal in the Seach History field and pressed 'Enter'. The page just froze. It didn't move at all. I'm going to get a Windows 7 Ultimate service technician to take a look at the laptop. Thanks a lot once again.
