TB has lost the ability to tag outgoing messages in the composition window. Why?
A few upgrades ago, I noticed that the tags set on an incoming message were not carried over to a reply anymore. I asked about this then, but got no answer. Now I notice that the tags assigned to an outgoing message from the composition window (from the tag bar) are not even retained when the message is sent (the tags do not appear in the sent window, I have to add tags manually to all my outgoing messages). Why is that. Can't this be fixed ?
I look forward to a fix, soon.
Thank you,
Alain Damlamian

Hello there, Is there someone monitoring this blog?
My question is simple and I even had asked it a year ago or so.
Why is there no answer to it, nor even an acknowledgment ?
I find this odd.
Thanks for any help.

People won't reply if they have nothing to contribute.
I don't use tags like you do. I put messages into folders rather than tagging. I use tags only on incoming messages, applied automatically by filters. To be frank, I have no idea if I should expect tags to persist. As in many cases with software, there is no reliable documentation nor a readily available specification to tell us what it's intended to do.
I suspect there are very few others with experience of tags usage as you employ them, hence the dearth of replies.
If the behaviour has changed then that sounds like a bug, and mozilla's bugzilla site would be the appropriate place to report it.
Thanks to Zenos for this reply.
I will go to bugzilla and see what transpires.

re : tags assigned to an outgoing message from the composition window (from the tag bar).
You asked this or similar 5 months ago and I responded.
I mention this because you talk about tag toolbar in composition window. This is not in standard thunderbird, so I came to the conclusion you were using an addon.
