my mail server is yahoo.com and I have many folders on the server. I installed Thunderbird and I want Thunderbird to copy and replicate all of these folders so that I can see the messages in them. Can this be done with with Thunderbird?

Yes of course. You just need to set up your account using the IMAP protocol: Thunderbird will then mirror the folder structure on the server. If you have already set up the account using POP, then don't try to change it: create a second account with IMAP and make sure it works before you remove the POP account.
