Firefox will not open another site unless I click on "Allow" when I choose a result from a search engine or click on a link embedded in a site I am viewing.

This permission?

  • "3-bar" menu button -> Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> General
    Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"

The setting in "Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

If it is something different then please attach a screenshot.

  • use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

cor-el,

Thank-you!

The solution that you recommended worked! And, as a bonus, thanks to the "see-also" references that you provided, I have also learned how to take a screen shot and attach it to a document.

Double thank-you, JoAnnT55
