Firefox page appears without cosmetics, pictures or screenshots but cosmetics are OK in other browsers
I'm in a software package that has many partial articles on a page. If you want to see the full article, you click on the "More" link. This takes me to Firefox (my default browser) for the complete article. However, it is frequently missing the normal cosmetics. If there are pictures or screenshots, they are missing also. However, if I copy the address from Firefox and go to AOL or M'Soft Edge, the whole article with full cosmetics, pictures and screenshots will show up. This has happened on many occasions. Any help would be appreciated.

If you see all the content as one long list without formatting then it is likely that some CSS files fail to load. If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button# or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure such extensions do not block content. There is security software that can interfere with loading content, so check that as well.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).
"Clear the cache":
- Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.
- Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button# or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button# or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Sorry to take so long to get back to you but I've been juggling may balls.
After putting thought into this, I believe the problem occurred when I was told to update Java. I saw a note about some Java problems in Firefox but didn't have time to figure out what I was supposed to do. I think Java has something to do with the cosmetics of a screen so I suspect that's why my cosmetics are missing.
However, I don't know what I'm supposed to do to make Java work with Firefox. Any suggestions there?

Thanks for the prompt reply. If I understand the link you sent, you are saying that there is no way to get my cosmetics back and I just need to use other browsers.
I'm supposing that Flash is similar in function to Java but I'm also assuming that the original site that sends me to Firefox to read the additional info is keyed into Java. My guess is there is no way to make this additional info appear in Firefox with Flash.
It appears to me that the only solution is to use another browser. Isn't this correct?
You can install the Firefox ESR 52 version which will get security updates into early 2018, to get "more time" using Firefox.

Thanks for the suggestion but when I looked at this earlier, it said it was for large organizations. I'm just me! Also, it seems to have a limited shelf life and then the problem will be back.
I've enjoyed using Firefox but it looks like I've been kicked out of the nest and it's time to move on.

I use the ESR version. It works just fine.
So I decided to try the ESR version however, it didn't solve my original problem. I was hoping that Java was the problem I was having. I can't work on this anymore now but will go back to the original suggestions I was given earlier.
