A month ago I was not able to delete messages or copy to my Trash folder on my desktop. I was also not able to compact folders, I backed up everything and deleted Thunderbird and reinstalled it after a week of troubleshooting tips from this group with nothing working. I was able to reinstall Thunderbird and copy my setting and emails and folders back to the new program although I lost my address book and have to create new message filters because the old ones although transferred over did not work. Now the same thing has happened to Thunderbird on my laptop. I cannot delete messages or compact folders. I have tried deleting the files foldertree.json panacea.dat and session.json as well as Trash and trash.msf in the mail folder. No help. What is up with Thunderbird??? I have used it for years without problems and now I have these problems time after time. How do I fix it?

Do the same you did on your Desktop computer or just copy what you have in your Desktop to your Laptop.
