Every time I boot my PC I get this message to 'Download Firefox in your language'. I already run firefox in English and I don't wish to see this annoying web page each time, yet I can't find where to disable it.

What's your computer system?

Does this look like a pop-up?

My Computer is a Windows 10 (Creator Update) Fujitsu Laptop. It is not a pop-up, it is a web page and the browser and page launch automatically at bootup. Image attached

Hmm . . . Somewhere in your boot-up, Firefox is being called and told to display that page. You need to check the system boot-up and find this command. I don't know Win 10.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/forum/windows_10

Win 7 Windows > Start > search bar > MSConfig. Select Startup. Go thru the list.

and/or

Windows > Start > All Proghems > StartUp(Directory).

You can check the home page setting.

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the profile folder that stores session data. When sessionstore.js is deleted you lose pinned tabs and open tabs and you will have to recreate them, so if necessary make a note or bookmark them.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thanks for the replies guys, but nothing has worked. I had already tried all startup options, to no avail. Have been right through the registry, but no luck. If I uninstall Firefox it doesn't do it anymore, so it's definitely part of the installation. Firefox is only my secondary browser anyway, so i'll replace it with Opera. Hope other people with the problem manage to get it sorted.

I get this too but the page shows in Chrome which I now use as my default browser (got sick & tired of FF crashing & hogging memory and disk i/o).

I have kept FF installed for the few times I need a plugin which hasn't yet got a Chrome equivalent, but I rarely use it. I already have it in English and don't need another language so no idea why FF wants me to choose another language.

This isn't a startup issue in as much as a browser hijack issue. It really saddens me to see a once great browser now a shadow of its former self.
