Firefox opens on a page (not the homepage), that looks like the control panel with a message at the bottom of the page that says "Windows 10 build is corrupted

My wife runs firefox on a Surface with W10. When she opened it today the homepage looked like the control panel and a message was displayed at the bottom of the page that stated "Windows 10 Build is corrupted....". A dialog box displayed asking for login and password credentials. The only way to get out of this was through task manager. I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and that seems to be working for now. However, this is the second time in a week that this has happened and I would like to know where it's coming from and ensure that it is removed completely from firefox.

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Flash Player Version: 25.0.0.171

Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only> +++++++++++++++++++ See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

. Whenever you get a message / popup like that;

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS OR ANY PHONE NUMBERS ! !

Such messages are only Spam that could lead you to Fake Support. Not only can they damage or hack your system, they charge you to do so.

You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Was this message part of Firefox if you would move the Firefox window around?

Next time try to catch this in a screenshot.
