Hello All:

My bootup is normal and I can open Thunderbird and Firefox (Ubuntu 16.04)

Thunderbird will download all emails, but I cannot access any email until I logoff and logon the desktop.

Also, all the tool bar navigation links on Firefox an frozen until I do the logoff/logon procedure.

This is after a fresh, clean install. The same problem existed before the install.

Thanks for any help.

What prevents you from accessing your mail after it has been downloaded?

When I open Thunderbird, all emails will download.

When I use the cursor to click on an email, nothing happens.

If I click on get messages, write, etc..... nothing happens.

I have to logoff and logn. then everything works.

Interesting....I'm on windows vista and recently, on a few occasions, have experienced Thunderbird appearing to not respond to any click selection. When this occurs, I see a second small rectangular icon appearing next to the cursor/mouse pointer. Have you noticed a similar weird icon appearing? Exiting and restarting thunderbird resolves issue.

No, no strange cursor/icon issues.

Exiting and opening does nothing for me. I have to logout and logon (not reboot) before I get navigation.

I'm using Linux Ubuntu 16.04.

Thanks.

Which Thunderbird version are you using? The vanilla version from mozilla.com, or the one provided by your distribution? In the latter case you should ask in an Ubuntu forum.
