Can't dismiss Google Calendar reminders
I'm using Thunderbird with Lightning and "Provider for Google Calendar" and can't dismiss Google Calendar reminders. I click on dismiss and nothing happens.
Calendar is not read-only.
I've got this kind of errors in "Error Console"
[calGoogleCalendar] Modifying item xxxxxx failed:2147500037: {
"error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "global", "reason": "forbidden", "message": "Forbidden" } ], "code": 403, "message": "Forbidden" }
}

Hi KirdApe, is it a new Thunderbird with Gmail installation or does this happen suddenly? Are you the owner of this event? The 403 error means there is something forbidden but we have to understand who send this answer and why. Are you behind a proxy?
It always happened.
No, I'm not the owner of the event and I'm not behind a proxy.
Following your idea, I was able to dismiss a reminder from an event in my calendar but most events are in other calendars.
I've found other users posting messages about the same problem. In all cases, this is because the user does not own the event. To me, you cannot delete an event or dismiss notifications if you are not the owner.
From UX and UI point, this may be a great improvement to hide these buttons if the user is not the owner.
The problem is that every couple of minutes a pop-up with those reminders appears. This makes thunderbird unusable.
Make sure your calendar isn't write-protected. Right-click the calendar in the left pane - Properties
Calendar is not write-protected
I'd try to delete the calendar in Thunderbird, restart Thunderbird, and then re-create the calendar.
Problem remains christ1
it may be a lighting issue:
If it's confirmed, we cannot help anymore on this point, you have to wait for a next update and/or create a technical ticket on bmo
