I've downloaded the new version of Firefox (57) this morning and on most all sites the font's display as the ? with a box around it glyph. I tried to use the older versions 56.something and it did the same thing. I've not had this problem until the new update. I am running it on a OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan. I found a solution for version 56 but was unable to complete it. I then tried the 'Refresh Firefox' and that did not solve the problem either. I've attached a screenshot of the problem for reference.

can you try if this works as a workaround?: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named security.sandbox.content.level. double-click it and change its value to 2 and restart firefox once.

hi, do you use any third-party font manager tools on your system?

I use Font Explorer X Pro. Though I usually only have it open when working with Adobe products.

Update. I finally found out where to change the Security.sandbox that was suggested for version 56 in another post and it seems to have worked. (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1181265)

However this dosen't seem to be the most effective and secure way to fix the issue.
