I keep changing back to google but Yahoo will force Firefox to quit all a sudden and when I open firefox again, Yahoo will have taken over again. This is maddening.

Hi, yes it is when that happens. Browser Hijacking is never great.

Please give your self a scan with : https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

Please check installed list of programs for anything you do not know and added Toolbars. If scanning does not help can ask for help here :
