youtube remembers
I use Private browsing mode and when I clear history and data youtube is still able to remember my previous selected items and is able to make recommendations based on the previous video selections.
Is there a cookie clear for private mode or some other option to prevent any information from being remembered by youtube?

Hi, you can search further this was just a fast key word search : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=youtube%20privacy
Please Copy/Paste about:preferences#privacy into the Address Bar and Enter and check in your Permissions. You can enter some stuff there and or see if they are there.
You can also do that with Cookies - Exceptions and type in the URL to only keep for the Session.
Is a complicated system going on and if you do not like it please go to the 3 Bar Menu --> Help --> Submit Feedback which will be reviewed by a team for future considerations to include in up coming releases.
You did not share information when making this question so I have no idea of what ad-blockers or other type of software you maybe running.
So ad-blockers try Ghostery and uBlock Origin. They work well together and can teach uBlock from Ghostery as they will break sites.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
When I run https://panopticlick.eff.org/results?aat=1 It checks against tracking I get the following. See enclosed
I have "Use Tracking Protection to block known trackers" set to always and I am using private mode. I still get partial blocked ads?

Hi, You ignored or just bypassed my last Reply. Are you testing things or are you a actual person asking for help. If you are the 1st your taking away from people that actually need help on critical things..
Point Blank please see TOR as not going to explain or point or what ever you want please see : https://www.torproject.org/ Others need help that works within Firefox your asking for things above what we know.

Perhaps you are making a faulty assumption about how YouTube does that. I haven't tested my theory that it is not related to cookies; just an observation of my recollections when I watched YouTube videos when logged in using different Google+ accounts.
Are you logging in to YouTube?
It seems that YouTube uses the Google+ log in to remember previously viewed videos and is able to make recommendations based on the previous video selections.
This thread - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1094015 - has been brought to my attention by another contributor who chose to not comment here.
There seems to be an "echo of repetition"" resounding across time in this thread me thinks.

Note that on Mac Firefox works differently and you can close all open windows and still have the menu bar visible. If you leave Firefox running this way and you use permanent Private Browsing mode then you still keep the cookies from the closed window if you open a new window. You need to quit Firefox to purge all PB mode session data.
- Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
the question is simple while not logged into Youtube if I open another tab after closing the other youtube tab youtube recommendations remain directly applying to what I was viewing. I have tried clear history and data but it remains. I know this should be cleared because if I close and reopen firefox a value was cleared and youtube no longer shows recommendations
-the-edmeister you are correct that I brought this issue up and as your link shows no answer was provided.
-pkshadow your reference to torbrowser does not relate to firefox as tor customizes firefox.
I also compared Safari browser and it gets a better result from https://panopticlick.eff.org/results?aat=1
