Thunderbird just updated to Thunderbird 60. Now I can neither send or receive email because it won't recognize my passwords. (Numerous problems/ncbill)
I can still receive and send e-mail from my phone and tablet (using BlueMail or GMail), but I can't do either from my Windows laptop with the new Thunderbird 60. If I reinstall the earlier version, (Thunderbird-Setup-17-0-8.exe), everything works. Going to Yahoo to change my password, as one solution suggests clearly does NOT address the problem, as the only thing that does not work is Thunderbird.

The previously suggested fix (concerning other email clients) was no help. But now the problem is that I have gotten no email for 3 days, and I can't send anything either. This is really not a happy situation
I neglected to say that I tried sending and receiving email with the virus filter turned off and firewall turned off. This made no difference. So far in the past two days, I have missed 49 emails that I can get on my phone, but not with Thunderbird.
Update 10/22/18 at 1530 Thunderbird decided to download 651 messages. This is immediately after I enabled Yahoo mail to access my account.
I wonder how long this will last
