Hi I have a problem with my 'sent mail' folder which appears to be completely empty. I know the mails are still there because if I search for a specific mail, it appears under the 'search tab'. If I then right click on one of the sent mails and ask to 'open message in containing folder', it takes me to the 'sent mails' folder that is empty! It is like the mails are there, but have become invisible! Please can someone offer a solution as it is driving me mad! Thanks

Three possibilities.

1. The mail index needs to be repaired. Right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.

2. THe list heading need to be reset. Nothing is listed because there are no headings. There is a small sqaure on the right of the display above the up down slider for the list. click it and select reset from the menu.

3. Your mail has been deleted and the global search index is not updated. This usually occurs after anti virus find "a threat" and they delete the entire contents of the folder to "remove" it. This however usually applies to the inbox, not the smaller and less used send folder. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/rebuilding-global-database
