Latest version with which www.translate works?
I receive and reply to emails in French. Since the update to 60.4.0 (32 bit) www.translate is not compatible. Can you please recommend an English/French/English translator that works with 60.4.0? If not, which is the most up to date version will work?

I have S3 Google Translator v. 5.38 working in TB 60.4. The add-on seems to have been removed from the Firefox and TB add-on sites due to a dispute over certain stats collection options.

https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/search/?q=translate&appver=&platform= This web page lists the translation associated add-ons and their certified versions. So the add-on you mention is listed as suitable up to V17.

You would have to contact the add-on author for details, but I see there's a button to open the Google translate page, where you can translate your exact text and view the suggested text.
ive never known how to view the suggested text [if its in English]
