I tried to update my laptop using the TB on my PC and now I have multiple folders for one email account on TB on my PC and I can't fix it
Yesterday I tried to update my laptop (which I have done many times and never had an issue and *note*I rarely use my laptop and I use my PC daily) from my PC ( using windows 7) following these steps-1. Install TB on the laptop 2. On the PC in TB, click Help/Troubleshooting, then click the Show folder button. Leave that folder open. 3. On the laptop in TB, click Help/Troubleshooting, then click the Show folder button 4. Delete all files and folders that appear (close TB first) 5. Copy all files and folders from the first folder you opened to the now-empty second folder you opened. 6. Start TB Somewhere along the line I screwed something up but I can't remember what it was I did wrong. I am going to PM you the images of how things look in my Thunderbird...(see pictures below)
After doing so, and I honestly cannot say what I did (maybe accidentally had TB open while doing so?) Now I have multiple folders for one email address/profile. I tried doing restore multiple times to the most recent date and all of them failed.
I have also tried to repair folders and that didn't work either. *some of these folders are split, so to speak, so I have some emails in one from the last few days and some in another from the last few days.*
I am using a POP server.
I unfortunately do not have them backed up ( that I know of) and I have many very important emails that I cannot lose.
Can somebody PLEASE help me?!? Thank you in advance.

Please access your profile name folder via 'Help > Troubleshooting' click on 'Open folder' button
Exit Thunderbird now - this is important.
You will see a window containing the contents of your 'profile name' folder. You will see many files with duplicate names but some will have an additional number eg:
- logins (2).json
- logins (3).json
- logins (4).json
- logins.json
the one in bold is the one you need to keep. All of those with an additional number can be deleted.
Please work through the 'profile name' folder list of files from top to bottom, carefully deleting any file that has a number eg: (2), (3), (4) etc in the name.
when completed....
Click on 'Mail' folder click on 'Local Folders' folder Delete any file that has a number in the name. eg: Drafts (2) and Drafts (2).msf
When completed... Go back to see contents of 'Mail' folder click on 'pop.verizon.net' folder Delete any file that has a number in the name. eg: Drafts (2) and Drafts (2).msf Same procedure as before.
When all duplicate files have been removed, start Thunderbird.

As you have eg: three 'Outbox' in 'Local Folders'
This looks like you did not exit Thunderbird before deleting all the default profile folders created when you installed and initially ran thunderbird. Then you copied over files, twice. Hence three of 'Outbox' and two 'Outlook Express Import'.
The default profile would not have created any eg: 'Sent' or 'Drafts' folders as they are created when you have created an account and actually sent an email, so they were pasted twice.
You also have other files such as 'msgFilterRules(2).dat'. This should not be visible. So I'm wondering if you have .dat files setup to open with the wrong program; in other words they are not 'DAT' files.
So I'm wondering what else you have copied twice. Please access your profile name folder via 'help > Troubleshooting' > click opn 'Open folder' button
Make sure the 'Type' column header is visible. Post images which show the following
- Contents of 'profile name' folder
- Contents of 'Mail' folder
- Contents of the pop mail account
- Contents of 'Local Folders' mail account
You lost me at the "Make sure the "Type" column is visible...Sorry! ( working on it though)
I hope this all of them..

I noticed that there were about four folders from my old TWCNY.RR account in there( under mail/ local folders I believe, and since Time Warner has crossed over to Spectrum and I have switched providers, may or may not work) which are emails I need, how can I go in and retrieve/integrate/etc. those folders/emails? (and to be honest, I am not sure if I even remember the password but I may have it somewhere)
