Setting up my email accounts in Thunderbird (60.6.1 (32-bit)) on my new Windows 10 Home (v 1803) lap top I enter (manually) all the correct details , but the failed message always appears. The problem appears to be the SMPT outgoing server name: smpt.ionos.co.uk recommended by the ISP ionos (formerly 1and1). If I enter the default smpt server (smpt.tiscali.co.uk in my case) the accounts set up perfectly, but then I cannot send emails because the tiscali smpt server bounces them with an error message. Is there way round the outgoing ionos server problem?

Could this be a typo? The correct server is smtp.ionos.co.uk, not smpt.ionos.co.uk.
