As of about a week ago, I can no longer send emails. I have made no changes to the application, whatsoever.
About a week ago, just all of a sudden, Thunderbird stopped being able to send email messages. It won't authenticate the SMTP server anymore. I can receive emails, but can no longer send them. I hadn't changed any settings or my password prior to this happening. I spent a great deal of time with tech support at my service provider, with no resolution. I have gone into my settings and verified them. To my knowledge, they are correct, from what I can see. I need to know what to do to fix this. HELP!

Do you have a security program scanning outgoing mail or SSL connections? If so, it may have updated and become incompatible with TB. Either disable those options, or better, run Windows in safe mode and see if sending proceeds without error.
I'll try disabling Norton 360 and see what that does. If it works, then we know the culprit. If it is Norton 360, then that's an easy fix - just allow outgoing mail from Thunderbird, in the program.
