My company uses Firefox ESR. What is the difference between version 60 and version 68?
I see two different sections for downloading Firefox ESR. I was curious what is the main difference between version 60 and version 68 and how to determine which may be best for my company.

Hi surquhart1,
the recent version will be better, especially for macOS.
Here are the release notes, you can see all the changes between 60 and 68:
ESR 60 is the outgoing version of the Extended Support Release, and ESR 68 is the incoming version. The "change-over" in the ESR versions overlaps by 2 or 3 versions; IOW both ESR 60.8 and ESR 68 were released at the same time, same for ESR 60.9 and ESR 68.1. That overlap helps organizations work out their implementation time line for the next ESR version.

What is the outgoing version for? What is the incoming version for? I have never heard these terms used in software versioning. Same with change-over. Sorry for my lack of knowledge here.
Is 68 what IT would use to test with while the rest of the organization in the production environment uses 60? Thanks for all your help.
60.8 is going away and being replaced with 68. Firefox allows a "window" ( 90 days if i recall correctly)for you to run the outgoing version "60.8" so enterprises can test and prepare for the incoming "68.0". So yes IT should be testing against 68.x and "Change Over" is simply going from the old version to the new one.

The older Fx 60 ESR branch will be made EOL (with no more updates) once Fx 68.2.0esr and Fx 70.0 are Released.
The current Fx 60 ESR is 60.9.0esr and not 60.8.0esr.
