Editing address lists when creating email.
bold text In Thundrebird email I use address lists, when creating email I want to edit the address list (remove some) in the "To/CC/BCC. A section in Help says you can do this editing but the separate names don't show, just the list address.
Section from Help below......
Create email using a mailing list
There are two methods producing different results. Via the Address Book
On the Mail Toolbar, locate 'Address Book'.
Click Address Book to open it. Select the mailing list. Click the Write button.
This will open a new Write message window, and each contact in the mailing list will appear in a separate To field. This allows you to remove a name, if desired. You may also need to manually select Bcc for each email address, as your contacts may not want you to distribute their email address. Enter the Subject; Compose the email and click Send.

Version 68.9.0 Yes it works.....I was expecting Edit List to appear in the sidebar not in the middle, and yes if I click OK at the bottom of the table the list appears in the sidebar. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. Regards, JH

In a Write window, show the Contacts sidebar with F9. Right-click the list in the sidebar, Edit List, click OK. This will show the list contacts in the sidebar. Select the ones you wish to send to while holding Ctrl, then click Add to To, Cc or Bcc at the bottom of the sidebar.
Thankyou sfhowes for your reply, but.....when I right click on the contact list name in the sidebar and then click edit list, I get an address list table in the main section of the email, which when you edit, it permanently edits your list. I don't get a list of contacts in the sidebar. Regards,JH
What is your version of TB? The method described in your first post works here, as well as the one I suggested. Try it in safe mode (Help/Restart with add-ons disabled) or post a picture of what you see when you right-click a list in the sidebar, select Edit List, then click OK.
