Hi, good news about arriving the new Thunderbird 78.2.2, but what a pity a useful behaviour disappear in the last version. So, in the previous version when you press Reply appear a message windows where WAS possible to change the option From "To" to "CC" using a falling tend. This was useful to reply changing the destination address but sending also to the original sender. Our administrative personnel use dozen of time each day this function. Was like this: 0 - Reply 1 - change the From option from the falling tend to "CC" 2 - Insert the new address in "To" That become, to obtain the same effect: 0 -> Reply 1 -> press the button CC 2 -> copy (deleting) the destination address 3 -> paste the address to CC field 4 -> insert the "To"

Almost doubles operations that must be done dozen of time per days.... not realy a good upgrade!!

It is possible to change the layout of the reply windows to the old one?????

You can click-and-drag the emails from to on the CC/BCC fields and vice-versa. No need to copy/delete/paste. But indeed - v68 options were better IMO too...

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-thunderbird-78 describes what is new.

But it is not the end - there will be further improvements to the addressing fields.

I agree with the grave loss of functionality.

The redesigned addressing fields is not suitable when sending emails to large numbers of people. I regularly send emails to 50-60 people, for most of whom I only have email addresses. The long list in a single box is EXTREMELY difficult to read. Having each addressee in their own box made it a lot easier to check that the list was complete.

An added benefit of the old format was the ability to easily chop and change from To to cc or bcc, and to continue the category with subsequent email addresses. Now I have to move the cursor between the boxes, or just type all of the addresses into the one box and then start the tedious drag and drop to put them in the correct box. For one or two addresses, it can be done, but with long lists of addresses, the changes have added several extra clicks and drags, and minutes to each email.

Thirdly, not having the cc field visible immediately is a pain. Why was it removed - did anyone think about the number of emails that are sent to cc and bcc readers? Why ADD extra clicks for functionality that is used by almost all users - in many, if not most of their emails?!

As for the rest of the upgrade, it has solved one of my problems with a large email account but not other problems. There are many things about recent changes that are just "pretty" but not actually helpful for the basic security and usability of the program.
