When I send photos via 'Send to mail recipient' they normally go to T/Bird email. For some reason it has changed and now shows 'File Name Outlook 1 File Type Outlook Data' and cannot be sent. I don't know why it has changed. I've checked all the check boxes under tools and options and they all seem to be correct for T/Bird. Any suggestions please?

When Send to - Mail Recipient stops working, you can often fix it by running the full installer:

The default mail client window showed T/B

Even if the default is shown as TB in Windows settings, it may still not be obeyed if Outlook is also installed. Try the method described in the link in my previous reply. It can't do any harm, and has a good chance of fixing your issue.

Problem persists. Difficulty is inconsistency. Some times all incoming email goes to in box w/o any problem, while on other occasions some goes to All Mail and/or Spam.

Thanks for your assistance this far. I would like to run the full installer but I'm both old and a tech novice and I'm fearful of losing my email accounts if I run the installer which seems to be a complete re-install of Thunderbird. I don't really understand your instructions and would really appreciate step by step instructions in layman's terms, on how to run the installer together with assurance I won't compromise my existing accounts. Many thanks

In Options/General/Update, the TB version is shown. Download the 32 or 64-bit installer for your language, depending on if you have 32 or 64-bit, from here: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/ Install over the existing installation which may be in Program Files (x86) or Program Files. Follow the rest of the instruction given earlier about not running at the end of the install and restarting the computer.
