Did you make changes to the default color settings or use a dark theme ?

  • Settings -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Colors: "Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above"

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.

Some websites only set one of text color and background color, so if you have modified the default colors then in some cases you end up with the same color for both.
