When emails arrive during the day only the time of day is shown in the Date Column in the Junk and Trash folders. Trying to sort by date is impossible, which makes it difficult to locate anything unless you want to scroll and scroll and scroll. Either omit the time completely or add the date to the time.

You can make today's mail show the same date format as older messages by changing mail.ui.display.dateformat.today to 2 in Options/General/Indexing/Config. editor.
