IRS "FREE FILE FILLABLE FORMS" doesn't display forms correctly

Using Firefox v 99.0 (64-bit) on Windows 10. THE IRS has a form program for income taxes called Free File Fillable Forms that uses displayed forms (like the 1040 form) that you fill in with your tax data. Suddenly the fill-in boxes are misaligned from the text, so cannot be used. This is, uh, important. Go to IRS.GOV to find this system. I've used this system successfully for years. Google Chrome does seems to work. Thanks.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Ignore this post, use the next one A small portion of the 1040 form. I added the magenta colored texts to identify out-of-place insertion points.

Ignore my previous comment above. Here I am including a better screen image. You can see entry fields in which I entered fake text, which happens to be green. You should see FIRSTNAME, LASTNAME, etc. These are dislocated from the field descriptions but are actual live entries into the form as displayed. The magenta comments are my insertions into the image. I see there is a problem with your testing this, since you would have to pretend to be filling out an actual IRS income tax 1040 form, meaning logging in, to IRS, etc. You might not want to do that. Sorry about that; this may make it impossible to debug from your end. I have a similar image from Google Chrome showing how it should look, if you want to see.

I would think that this is caused by broken CSS, possibly by blocking CSS files.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages about blocked content.

Sorry to say, but I turned AdGuard off and I still get the same old misaligned form entry fields. AdGuard is the only advertisement blocker I'm using right now.
