How can I toggle of in-tab navigation with tab + num?

I just installed mozilla and I found out that you can navigate between tabs using alt + number, the number being the number of the tab you want to see. The problem is, thanks to this little option I can't use alt + numpad to write ASCII characters anymore, and since that is a big part of my day-to-day activities, I prefer just to turn of the navigation so I can write the ASCII characters like I'm used to.
