Update problem Firefox on Windows 7

more options

Firefox won't update because it thinks that an instance is still running, but there is no browser instance running! Also when saying to stop it doesn't help, it keeps returning saying that it's still running. Some strange register setting in Windows 7? Also Firefox won't start because of the same problem, see added screen shot (in Dutch)

I think you must have checked this, but just in case, can you check the Windows 7 Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), Processes tab. If a process is running hidden, it may not appear on the main tab.
