CNS (Aruba) and minilector (Bit4id) in Firefox 104.0.2 (64 bit) in Ubuntu 22.04 - not working

more options

Since the upgrade from Ubuntu 20.04.05 to 22.04 I cannot run CNS cards in minilector card reader. Configuring the middleware in privacy/security/security devices I cannot create a PKCS #11 module using libbit4xpki.so lib (from Bit4id) because of "impossible to load the module" warning. I tried several lib releases as suggested by Bit4id support team. The library is stored by default in /usr/lib/bit4id folder. If I move the library in an user space (i.e. myhome/opt/bit4id), Firefox loads the module succesfully but the card reader is not working at all. It worths recalling everything worked fine in 20.04 Ubuntu distribution.

I wonder if it could be ascribed to the snap distribution used for Firefox in the 22.04 bundle, particularly because of the sandbox that could hinder the access to external devices, and I would appreciate a confirmation (or any other advise/workaround). Best regards

Si, potrebbe essere un problema con la sandbox di Snap. Installa Firefox in formato deb dai repo di Ubuntu o direttamente da Mozilla -> https://www.mozilla.org/it/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
